The power of Endurance, a very instructive story.

Today Baba explained something very important to me - Baba told me a story.........

One day the king put some glass diamonds and some real diamonds in a bag and announced that is there any jeweler who can separate the glass diamonds and the real diamonds?

The condition was that the successful jeweler would be rewarded and the unsuccessful one would be beheaded.  A dozen Jewelers got beheaded because the duplicate glass diamonds were cut with such skill that they were mistaken for real.  A blind man came to the royal palace on hearing the royal announcement. After the curtsey salutations, said " I can separate those diamonds and glass".

The king scoffed and reminded the condition of beheading in case of failure. The blind man was ready to accept every condition, he picked up the bag of diamonds and left the palace.  An hour later he appeared with real diamonds in one hand and the duplicate glass diamonds in the other.  The royal jewelers confirmed that the blind had won.

The king was very surprised, he could not stop wondering how a blind person could do something that the sighted and normal could not do.  The king asked the blind man how he could distinguish between the real and the duplicate ones?

The blind man said it is very easy "I put the diamonds in the direct sunlight and checked that some of the diamonds got very hot due to sunlight and then I derived that the ones that got hot by the sun's heat were duplicate and the ones that endured the heat and stayed cool were the real diamonds.

The king praised the blind man's knowledge and rewarded him.

Baba said, "remember my son, anger, ego, loose temper, bitterness, arrogance, etc., all these qualities are of a disrespectful and worthless person and these flaws make him worthless."

With the wisdom of the blind, I got that endurance, gentleness, meekness, modesty, and love are the eminence of humanity.  The one that could bear the heat and harsh conditions is the diamond and the one that could not bear is duplicate like a glass diamond.  I learned that the only difference between the real and the fake is the power of tolerance.

I asked, Baba, how long will the human being endure?  How long to endure people's taunts?  How long to control your anger?  After all, there is a limit to tolerance?  Baba smiled and said, son, you have to endure until you become a diamond.

I asked then after that?  Baba said that no pressure, no fire and no heat affect the diamond after it is made.  Just as water does not settle on a smooth pitcher, no arrow or spear works on a "real diamond".  You will be recognized and your status will be very high.
